Lonnie F Wisdom

Wisdom, Lonnie F. Age 72, of San Antonio, NM passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014. He was born in Marcia, NM on January 30, 1942, to Lonnie and Rose Gallahar Wisdom. Lonnie attended Socorro High School. Lonnie was first married to Carol Wooldridge (Hannah) and they had one daughter, Jeffri. He then found the love of his life, Susan Morgan, and they were married for 41 years. Lonnie and Susan had one daughter, Sheyna and one son, Kyle. Lonnie lived most of his life in Socorro, but also lived in Albuquerque, NM, Wyoming, Utah, Texas and Colorado. Wherever he lived, Lonnie had a need for speed and was known for building motors with a "Wisdom purr". He was a master mechanic, owning gas stations, working at NM Tech TERA, VLA and finally at WSMR Stallion Site for 17 years. Although Lonnie had a physical impairment, it made him more determined to succeed and never slowed him down. Lonnie was a fierce competitor with a strong love of sports of all kinds, including fast pitch softball, basketball, and water skiing. The only thing he loved more than sports and fast cars was his family and friends. He was well known for his infectious smile and laugh and huge heart. Lonnie is survived by his wife, Susan; three children, Jeffri Stangl and husband, Joe, Sheyna Wisdom, and Kyle Wisdom and wife, Misty; his honorary son Casey Masterson; his eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Luke, Casey, Allison, Zachary, Mya, and Kea; his two brothers, Tom and Amos Wisdom; his sister, Mary Blanton and husband, Bill; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family of life-long friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eagle's Club, 1111 N. California, Socorro on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
