Lorraine Louise Christianson

CHRISTIANSON, Lorraine Louise 88, a resident of Albuquerque for 56 years, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico of natural causes after a very productive and full life. Lorraine was born July 28, 1921 in Chambersburg, Illinois to Roy and Nellie Murphy. Lorraine grew up in Chicago during the Roaring 20’s and the Great Depression with brothers, Roy and Claire and sister, Ellen. She attended Austin High School in Chicago where she studied French and swam varsity all four years. She met and married her husband of 70 years, Howard ‘Chris’ Christianson of Albuquerque on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1939 at the Mandell Methodist Church in Chicago. They lived in Chambersburg, Peoria, Galesburg and in Chicago, Illinois, Ventura, CA. and Albuquerque. She was domestic engineer extraordinaire and loving housewife and mother when she did not work at the Toy Tree and substitute as a Special Education Aide at more than 40 APS schools. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, Nellie and Roy Murphy in San Gabriel, CA her two brothers, Roy of San Gabriel, CA and Claire at the Coffeyville, KS Air Station and her sister Ellen Crosiar of Roswell, NM. She is survived by her husband Howard ‘Chris’ of Albuquerque; daughter Judith Lee Matteucci and her husband Paul of Albuquerque; son Eric Howard Christianson of Lexington, KY; son Val Wayne Christianson of Albuquerque; grandchildren Scott Allen Christianson of San Rafael, CA, David John Matteucci and his wife Kendra of Albuquerque, Brian James Matteucci and his wife Mary of Albuquerque, Paula Lee Matteucci and her husband Sam Maclay of Albuquerque and Liv Erin Christianson of Cincinnati, OH;great-grandchildren, Tiffany Matteucci of Albuquerque, Shelby Adair of Manhattan Beach, CA, Kayla and Seth Matteucci of Albuquerque, Will and Jane Mcclay of Albuquerque, Madeleine, Megan and Luke Matteucci of Albuquerque. Luncheon will follow at the home of Lorraine and Chris.
