In Loving Memory of Lorraine Ramirez
With deep sadness and immense love, we remember the life of Lorraine Ramirez, who passed away on March 6, 2026. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and loving spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Lorraine’s life was centered around the people she loved most—her family. She shared a loving marriage of 53 years with her devoted husband, Anastacio “Tacho” Ramirez, who never left her side. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for their family.
She was the proud mother of four children: Stephen Salas; Albert Ramirez and his wife Megan Ramirez; Pamela Ramirez and her partner Lydia Guerrero; and Karen Ramirez and her partner Bernadette Martinez. Lorraine dedicated her life to supporting, encouraging, and caring for her children, always placing their needs and happiness before her own.
Lorraine was also a loving and proud grandmother to Ashley Salas and great granddaughter Delilah Thorson, Cameron Salas, Loren Salas, Ryan Ramirez, Logan Ramirez and Noah Martinez. Her grandchildren brought her endless joy, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
For many years, Lorraine worked as an Office Manager at PB&J Family Services before retiring. Her work reflected her compassionate nature and her genuine love for helping children and families. Caring for others was not simply a job for Lorraine—it was a true reflection of who she was.
Lorraine will also be remembered for the warmth of her home and the love she shared through her cooking. Family and friends will forever remember her incredible homemade tacos and her famous biscochitos, which she delighted in sharing with everyone. Her kitchen was a place filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness. Lorraine always made sure that anyone who visited her home was offered something to eat—and often, she insisted they leave with food to take with them.
Those who knew Lorraine will always remember her beautiful smile, which had a way of lighting up any room. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Lorraine would do anything for her family, and the love she gave them will remain a lasting part of their lives.
Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren, as well as her brother, David Salas, and her sisters, Cynthia Mendez and Bernadine Mendez, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Guadalupe Mendez; her father, Benino Salas; her stepfather, Christopher Mendez; and her brother, Jaydee Mendez.
Lorraine’s life was defined by love—love for her family, love for caring for others, and love expressed in the simple and meaningful ways she shared her life with those around her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory, kindness, and beautiful smile will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
Amen
