Louisa Muller

MULLER-Louisa Muller passed away peacefully at her home in Albuquerque, NM on July 23, 2010, and is now rejoicing eternally with her beloved savior Jesus Christ, and loving husband Nicolas "Nick" Muller, whom she missed and loved dearly. She is preceded in death by daughter, Rosie Zamora; babies, Jennie and Henry Muller; mother, Fransiquita Tafoya; brother, Alfredo Tafoya; sister, Eduvijen Baca. Her surviving sons are Robert Muller and wife Catalina, Nick Muller and wife Luci; daughters Lela Cordova and husband Jerry, Nora Gallegos and husband Santiago; one sister Maria Baca and husband Neo; two brothers, Santiago Tafoya and wife Rita, and Luciano Tafoya; and five generations of family: 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren. Louisa Muller was born in Gallegos, NM on December 20, 1917. She married Nicolas Muller in 1936, and soon after migrated to the Martineztown neighborhood in Albuquerque. They spent 36 years there raising and supporting a loving family, and then moved to the NE heights where Louisa enjoyed a variety of activities. From a young age, Louisa loved all flowers and plants and enjoyed her garden. Louisa quilted with the Chama and Highland Senior Centers for 26 years and made many beautiful quilts. She also loved bingo. Since 1973, Louisa was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Church and was a member of the Senior Group there. She was a parishioner of San Ignacio Church when she resided in Martineztown. Special thanks to her caregivers: Betty Hernandez, Jennifer Garcia, Connie Abeyta, and Anna Herrera. We wish to express our thanks and gratitude to Sandia Hospice for the exceptional care they provided; especially nurse Kate Krogdahl; Dr. Merovka, and all the staff of Sandia Hospice who compassionately supported the family during Louisa's care. An especially grateful thank you to Jerry Cordova, Luci Muller and Catalina Lehner Muller for their dedication and availability in support of Louisa. Pallbearers will be David Muller, Earl Zamora, Brian Martinez, J.J. Martinez, Jeb Truesdale, Mandy Truesdale; and honorary pallbearers will be Paul Rees, Deborah Rees and Eric Rees. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 7 pm on Monday, July 26, 2010, at Daniel's Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel, where the rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at Queen of Heaven Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87110. Internment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
