Louise Murdock Philson

Louise Murdock Philson, 101, died May 12, 2025, in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born September 3, 1923, in Elkhart, Texas.

She graduated from Little Rock (Ark.) Central High School in 1940 at the age of 16. She met then-Lieutenant Ormand K. “Phil” Philson while working at the Western Union Office in Little Rock, and the couple was married on May 12, 1942, in Little Rock. In 69 years of marriage the couple traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and western Europe while pursuing education, career and, after retirement, pleasure.

Louise professed her faith in Jesus Christ in her teens while attending a Baptist church, and spent the rest of her life as a disciple.

Louise is predeceased by her husband; a sister, Catherine Moseley, and many friends with whom she connected over the years. She is survived by two daughters, Renée Hunter (Kenneth) and Shari Arlett (Richard); four grandchildren, Shannon Bloyder (Joe), Kendra Massa (Steve), Randall Arlett (Megan) and Arden Jump (Jay); 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
