Lowell Allred, 81, of Kirtland, passed away early Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home. Lowell was born September 2, 1929 in Central, Arizona the son of Myron Erastus Allred and Elizabeth Orleana (Palmer) Allred. Lowell moved to Kirtland in 1948 and later he served an LDS Mission in the Central States Mission. He met and married Carolyn Visage in 1952 in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple. Lowell served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 and attained the rank of corporal. He did construction work and also was a dairyman. Lowell later retired as a brick and stone mason. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Lowell is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn Allred; daughters Myra, Shaneesta and Nicole; sons James, Clay, Damon and Donovan; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Vicky Allred, brother Larry Allred, sisters Delsa Larsen and Phyllis Hoopes. Viewing will be Saturday, November 6 from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kirtland 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ward chapel on county road 6100 in Kirtland. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kirtland with Bishop Marion Wells conducting. Interment will follow at the Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery in Kirtland with full military honors provided by VFW Post #2182 of Farmington. Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home
