With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lucy Ann Keller, who died at home on July 17, 2026, attended by loving family. Lucy Keller was a strong, independent, beautiful woman who lived an extraordinary life with grace and strength. Lucy Ann Keller, nee Chin Shih Fang, was born on July 28, 1931, in Chengdu, China, to Chin Fo Yung Chia and Chin Chiao Chiang. She was born into a traditional Chinese family whose lives were deeply affected by the war with Japan and the Chinese Revolution. She moved to Taiwan where she met the love of her life, James C. Keller “Jim”, to whom she was married until his death in 2012.
Lucy and Jim moved throughout the United States and Europe courtesy of the United States Air Force, raising a family of 8 children along the way. Our mother adapted to a completely different culture, learning from the many friends she made along the way. Lucy and Jim had a zest for life, enjoying travel, dining and dancing with friends, entertaining, participating in church activities, and spending time with family. Her Catholic faith gave her strength and sustained her throughout her life. She was also the family education enforcer, and her children were too scared not to comply!
She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Cecilia Keller and Dave Sanders, Frank and Cindy Keller, Patrick and Beate Keller, Loretta and Jeff Stark, Jim and Carolyn Keller, Michael and Carole Keller, Mark and Terri Keller; twenty-one grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren (and counting). She was predeceased by her husband, James C. Keller, and her beloved son, Tim Keller.
Lucy took great pride in her family and loved family get-togethers and celebrations. Traveling to her children’s and grandchildren’s high school, college, graduate school, medical school, and law school graduations, and weddings was a source of joy to her. She also enjoyed beating the pants off family in the card game of Pick!
We are going to miss our strong, feisty, loving Matriarch; she was one of a kind and second to none. Our world will be a little dimmer without her light, but her legacy of love will live on through family.
A Funeral Mass will be held a Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd., N.E., Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109 at 10:00 a.m. on August 5, 2026.
