Lucy R. Montoya

MONTOYA- Lucy. On Wednesday, March 17, 2010, Lucy Muniz Montoya passed away, following a brief illness at the age of 93. She was born in 1916 and was raised by her grand parents on a ranch in Montoya, NM. She later joined her parents in Santa Fe where she met and married her late husband, Samuel Montoya. She was a life long devout Catholic and resided in Albuquerque for the last 55 years. Lucy was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Montoya, Sr and her son, Samuel Montoya, Jr. She is survived by a brother; Ramon Muniz, daughters; Felicita and her husband Richard Sinclair, Carmen and her husband, Bill Swift and son; Gilbert Montoya. Lucy has 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren along with many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 PM where Lucy will join her husband, Samuel.
