Luis Louie" S." Maez

MAEZ - Luis “Louie” S. Maez, age 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010. He was born in Ignacio, CO and was a resident of Bernalillo, NM. Louie enjoyed spending his past time fishing and he loved driving to Colorado to visit his sister. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Julianita Maez; two brothers, Ben Maez and Manuel Marquez; and his sister, Transita West;. Louie is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marie Maez; his children, Larry Maez and Martha Vasquez; and his grandson, Larry D. Maez. Also surviving are his brother, Bernie Maez; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended relatives; and his beloved dogs, Chulita and Tiny. Louie will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, where a Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. and then followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Tony Maez, Ray Maez, Larry Daniel Maez Jr., Scotty Gutierrez, David Alvarado and Frankie Martinez. Military Honors will be accord by the Santa Fe Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard.
