LUCERO - Lupe Lucero, age 89, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 8, 2010. She was born in Gallup, NM and was a resident of Albuquerque. Lupe volunteered at the North Valley Senior Citizen Center. Her hobbies included fishing, dancing, and going to the casino with her best friend Juanita Gibson. Lupe was a member of the American Legion Post #100 Women’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie Lucero; and a son, Michael “BB” Santillanes. Lupe is survived by her four daughters, Gloria Ridenour and husband Bill of Clovis, NM, Margie Farmer and husband Tom of Tucson, AZ, Marie “T.T.” Rutiaga of Denver, CO, and Julia Serna of Albuquerque; two sons, Carlos Trujillo, Daniel Trujillo and wife Sarah both of Albuquerque; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Lupe will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd., NW, a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Casket Bearers will be Michael Lovato, Albert “Apa” Apodaca, Mike Lucero, Raul Anaya, Dina Newman, and Robert Trujillo. Honorary Bearers will be Gabriel Lucero, Max Trujillo, Vincent Ford, Tyler Craig and Isidro Anaya. A private Cremation will follow the services. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers the family will accept contributions.
