Lydia Clara Salas Minnick

On March 22, 2023, Lydia Clara Salas Minnick, age 90, passed away peacefully at home

surrounded by loved ones. Lydia was the first born of Margaret and James Salas on Wednesday, February

15, 1933 in Arrey, New Mexico.

Lydia is survived in death by her daughter Debra J. Allen of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, her son Joseph H.

Minnick Jr. and his wife Debbie McGrotha of Edgewood, NM, her beloved 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and six grand-doggies.

Lydia was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, Lucio and Rosita Gutierrez, her mother Margaret

Ivie, her father James Salas, her brother Rudy Salas, her son-in-law Robert W. Allen, and many other

Cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Lydia was first and foremost a dedicated mother to her children, and "Nana" to her

grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Throughout her life she dedicated her time not just to

the children within her family but also within the community. Lydia retired as office secretary of the

radiology department at Carrie Tingley Hospital in 1995.

Lydia's wishes are to be buried with her grandparents and other family members in Arrey, New Mexico.
