Lynn E. Drob

DROB - Lynn E. Drob of Rio Rancho passed away on May 14, 2011. Her great joys in life have been God, beloved family, dear friends and singing. Lynn was blessed with a wonderful family, leaving behind her daughter Catherine Dobbins and husband Richard of Rio Rancho, NM, and grandchildren Julie, Shannon, and Walker Dobbins; daughter Elisabeth Sellers and husband Joseph of St. George, UT, and granddaughter Katelyn Sellers; daughter Laura Parent of Rio Rancho; granddaughter Patricia Parent, and great-granddaughter Hannah Parent, also of Rio Rancho; son Thomas Drob and daughter Taylor of Rio Rancho, and granddaughter Lauren Drob of Savannah, GA; and her brother Nick Story of El Sobrante, CA. Lynn’s husband Alexander Drob, whom she met in College in the 1950’s and who taught her how to have fun in life, died in 1978. Lynn was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1936 and moved to San Diego, CA in 1959 where she and her husband Al raised their four children. She moved to Rio Rancho, NM in 1993 where she worked until her retirement in 2001. Her love of choral singing began at the age of 12 when she joined a school choir, and continued throughout her life. She recently sang with the choir at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Rio Rancho, and UNM University Chorus, where she served for many years on its Advisory Council. A Funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Lynn’s name to the Barrett Foundation in Albuquerque (shelters for homeless women and children) or to the UNM University Chorus Fund, c/o of the UNM Foundation, to be used for choral scholarships.
