Lynne M. and Alfred D. Márquez

Lynne Márquez, age 64 (October 22, 1956 – November 24, 2020), and Alfred Márquez, age 71 (February 10, 1956 – December 22, 2025) passed away peacefully, surrounded by children and loved ones, five years and one month apart.

Lynne was born to Michael J. “Jerry” and Eldora M. Hickey in Seattle, Washington. Alfred was born to Manuel S. and Sofia G. Márquez in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Lynne and Alfred married on November 23, 1974 in Albuquerque, and are survived by their five children Aaron, Andrea (Esteban), Nicholas, Alyssa (Kevin), and Luke; and grandchildren Jackson, Alia, and Elina; as well as their beloved poodle, Penny. On Lynne’s side, they are survived by sisters Connie Collier and Debbie Malone (Jim), and brother Michael Hickey (Mary) and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

On Alfred’s side, they are survived by brother Joe Márquez (Yita), sisters Ida O’Neal (JR), Lorine McKay, Linda Kozlowski (Johnny), Gloria Corcoran (Jim), and Anita Ibarra, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Lynne was preceded in death by her parents, Michael “Jerry” and Eldora Hickey, and sister Diana Dalton. Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Sofia, sister Mary Montgomery, and brothers Ruben Márquez and Robert Márquez.

Both Alfred and Lynne were known for their kindness, opening their homes and welcoming in anyone who needed a home-cooked meal, a place to stay, a fresh start, or a little extra love. They built a home that was considered a second home to many. Alfred was known for his sense of humor, even if “it gets old,” as Lynne put it. Lynne was known for her bubbly joy and lifetime of caring for others. Lynne and Alfred gave their children the ultimate gift of unwavering love and support. They will be dearly missed, but their family is happy for them to be reunited in heaven.
