Mabel L. Romero, a beloved member of her community, passed away on September 15, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on October 9, 1947, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mabel was a loving wife to her husband Ben Romero and a dedicated mother to her children Antionette Romero, Mario Romero, and Damian Romero.

Mabel's life was highlighted by her successful career in banking services. For 15 years, she worked diligently in this field, leaving a lasting impact on her colleagues and clients alike. Her dedication and commitment to excellence were admired by all who knew her.

Education played an important role in Mabel's life. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and went on to attend Highlands University. Her thirst for knowledge and love for learning were evident throughout her life as she continued to seek wisdom and grow intellectually.

Outside of work and education, Mabel found great joy in attending church activities, ministries, and Bible studies. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength during both joyful and challenging times. Mabel's deep connection with God was evident in the compassion and kindness she displayed towards others.

Mabel's warm presence will be deeply missed by not only her immediate family but also by her grandchildren: Noela Abney, Kaley Garcia, LaTisha Romero, Mario Romero Jr., Madeline Romero, Kalayah Romero, Camila Garcia, Delilah Garcia, Elijah Diaz, Analicia Diaz, Aliyah Diaz. She took immense pride in being a grandmother and cherished every moment spent with them.

In addition to her husband and grandchildren, Mabel is survived by her sisters Angie Lopez (Pete), Rachel Escandon (Antonio), Cristina Gonzales; brothers Richard Gonzales (Grace), and Eddie Gonzales (Cristina), sister-in-law, Lucy Estrada (Leonard), sister-in-law, Maria Elena Romero; as well as numerous other relatives and friends who were touched by her kind-hearted nature throughout the years.

To honor Mabel's life and legacy, a series of services will be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The visitation and rosary will take place on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will also be held concurrently during this time to celebrate Mabel's life and the impact she had on those around her. The funeral mass will follow the next day, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, starting at 1:00 PM and concluding at 2:00 PM. The address of the church is 1001 Meteor Ave NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144.  There will be a gathering immediately after the mass at Anchor Point Church, located at 6751 Pasilla Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144 . Mabel will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 at 10:00am.  The address of the cemetery is 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe, NM 87501.

Mabel L. Romero was a remarkable woman whose kindness and love touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and devotion to her family leave behind an enduring legacy that will be forever cherished.
