IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Magdalene Noreen
Otteni
March 29, 1975 – March 1, 2026
Celebration of Life
Sagebrush Church
10:00 - 11:00 am (Mountain time)
Lena was born on March 29, 1975, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Lena passed away on March 1, 2026, at the age of 50.
Magdalene “Lena” Otteni, age 50, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. Born on March 29, 1975, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Lena brought love, joy, and compassion to all who knew her.
Lena was a woman that lived her life with happiness and love. She was a great wife to her true love, Kenneth “Ken” Otteni and her two fur babies, Bogey and Archie. She always expressed how Ken was the love of her life, and her best friend. Their life was like a fairy-tale come true, they traveled to different countries, enjoyed quiet moments at home, cooking together and playing with their babies. Lena’s love for Ken was unwavering, and their bond was one of deep devotion and happiness.
Lena’s heart was full of love for her daughter, Alexandria “Ally” and her granddaughter, Ava Rae were her entire life, thoughts and prayers. She was so proud of their accomplishments, she talked about them all the time. Ava Rae was the shining star in Lena and Ken’s life.
Lena was a loving sister that cared for her family. She was always lecturing to us on how to stay healthy and what to eat. She was a little/big sister to her older sisters… lol. We spent a lot of quality time with her, which we are all grateful for. Margie, the oldest, would talk to Lena countless times a day. Margie always expressed to her that she was her baby. Rosanne loved her sister, and words cannot express how much. Rosanne always said that Lena was her HEART, but now it is broken, she has come to the knowledge and understanding that it was God’s will and all we can say is “YOUR WILL BE DONE” and trust in his Word.
Lena was the type of person that would stop at the stop lights to give the less fortunate people asking for a handout. If she had water or food, she would give it to them, without ever thinking twice. Ken and Lena prayed often. Every morning, when getting ready for the day, she would pray and worship her Lord for several hours. They were Christians, born again, and they experienced baptism in the Jordan River, in Israel.
My lord took her up to heaven and she is now with her mom and dad. Knowing my mom, she is hugging her and not letting go, not once. Lena was her Babygirl, her Hita.
Survived by Kenneth (Ken) Otteni, her husband and true love. Five surviving siblings, Margie (Ernie) Rubi (2 children), David (Camella) Duran (6 children), Rosanne (Brenda) Duran, Patrick Duran (2 children), and Veronica Duran (2 children). She has numerous nieces and nephews. On Ken’s side, he has four siblings, Joan Nordstrum, Lee Otteni, Mary Jane Hall, and Elaine Cebula.
Preceded in death by her father and mother, Agustine (Austin) and Adonelia (Lorie) Duran and her niece, Annabella Duran.
Our beautiful Lena Duran-Otteni, heaven has truly gained an angel. She had such a strong passion for God. She prayed many times a day, no matter what hour. Her compassion and love have impacted so many people in her wonderful life. As a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend, she embodied warmth and kindness. She was such a gift to this world, and her presence will be deeply mourned. Everyone will always love and remember her. She made such amazing memories with everyone she loved, whether in laughter or in tears. Everyone will forever cherish the moments she shared. Though our hearts ache, we will find peace knowing she is dancing with the angels, watching over us with love.
May she rest in peace, eternally in our hearts, our beautiful Lena. You are gone but never forgotten.
