Mandy Chavez

Age 95, slipped away the morning of April 7, 2015, surrounded by her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Calling her home was our Lord and husband Bernie. She was preceded in death by her husband Jose "Bernie" Chavez and first son, baby Gurule; parents Casimiro Lovato and Florencia Miera Lovato; siblings Tony Lovato, Pete Lovato, Juanita Lovato, Vickie Archibeque, Irene Sandoval, Frances Martinez, and Jesse Griego. She is survived by son, David A. Gurule wife Mary; siblings Casimiro "Junior" Lovato and wife Caroline, Bennie Lovato and wife Lorella, Gabriel "Gabe" Marquez and wife Dedie; four grandchildren, Ann Marie Koester and husband Duane, David Gurule Jr. and Fiancé Lucinda, Edward Gurule and wife Crystal, Michelle Cook and husband Victor; nine great-grandchildren, Gabriol Gurule, Aubriana Koester, Mandi Koester, Braiden Koester, Jazmin Gurule, Diego Gurule, Cruz Gurule, Jacob Cook, and Nina Cook, and many nieces and nephews. Mandy moved to Albuquerque from California in 1987 after the passing of late husband Bernie on Mother's Day, 1986. Mandy was the welcome wagon to all who visited. Her carne adovada, beans, chili, and homemade tortillas were always ready to be served. Pallbearers will be, David Gurule Jr., Gabriol Gurule, Arthur Sandoval, Gary Martinez, Benny Anthony Lovato, and Robert Marquez. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Daniels Family Funeral Services-Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
