Manny Pereira

April 23, 1942 — March 8, 2023

March 03, 08, 2023, Manny Pereira, Manny to his friends and loved ones, passed away quietly in Placitas, New Mexico, after a month-long illness.

Manny was a very bright, funny, and intelligent person. Born on April 23, 1942, in Newark, New Jersey, Manny began his career in education as a high school English teacher in Moreno Valley, California. Later he went to work at the University of California - Berkeley as a principal analyst in Human Resources. After retirement, he and his wife Jacque moved to New Mexico, where they built their dream home. Manny loved his garden, his dogs, Bob Dylan, the Patriots, and the Boston Red Socks. A voracious reader, he also enjoyed art and music.

People who loved Manny can remember him by knowing that the brighter the light, the more it shines on. Everyone will be amazed at how "not gone" he truly is. Get happy for him, and there he'll be. He believed that the Universe would take care of all of us, and he is now part of it, only on a bigger scale.

Manny is survived by his wife of 37 ½ years, Jacque Pereira of Placitas, New Mexico; son, Michael Pereira of Hannibal, New York; brother Richard and his wife MiMi of Jackson, NJ; niece Debby Repko and family of Cranberry, NJ; and nephew Steven Pereira, and family of Upper Saddle River, NJ.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In place of cards or flowers, please consider donating to any animal rescue organization or the American Heart Association in Manny's name.
