Manuel (Neeches) Leyba

Manuel “Neeches” Leyba passed away on August 11, 2010, he was 46. He was born on September 28, 1963 in Gallup, NM. He graduated from Gallup High School in 1983, he then served in the United States Navy from 1983-1986. He worked at the Bureau of Elections as a voting technician; He also served as a business license inspector for the McKinley County Clerks office. He held a CDL license and was a driver for RAC transport and Fed Ex. He was an avid Rams fan; he enjoyed playing and watching sports, singing, and playing the guitar. He will best be remembered as a fun loving “Big hearted” son and brother who loved life to the fullest, he loved his family and all his friends. He will be missed. He is survived by his Mother; Soila Chavira and her husband Nino of Gallup. One brother; David Leyba Jr. and his wife Frances of Gallup. Two sisters; Frances Juarez and her husband Pete, Linda Garcia and her husband Steve both of Gallup. His Grandmother; Lillian Leyba of Gallup. He also leaves behind numerous nephew and nieces. He was preceded in death by his Father; David Leyba Sr., his maternal grandparents; Frances and Genero Villanueva. And his paternal grandfather; Manuel Leyba. A visitation will be held on Saturday August 14, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Light House Church 2045 Westview St. Gallup, NM., A Funeral service will then be celebrated at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Overton officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Pallbearers include; Carlos Juarez, Mario Juarez, Roman Herrera, Josiah Wright, Joshua Garcia, Jeremy Wright, Toby Villanueva, and Anthony Villanueva. Honorary Pallbearers include; David Leyba Jr., Nino Chavira, Pete Juarez, Steve Garcia, Louie Leyba, Moses Trujillo, Alicia Puma, Jennaweh Leyba, Alex Diaz, Ralph Diaz, Greg Garcia, Rudy Chavira, Manuel Chavira, Paul Acevado and all his bros.
