On Friday, August 21, 2026, Manuel I. (Manny) Maese went to his Eternal Home. His beloved wife, Nancy was at his side.
Manny was born on February 8, 1931, to Tiburcio and Mary Maese in Los Angeles, California.
After graduating high school, Manny attended the University of Alabama, Huntsville. While in college, he worked as a taxi driver.
Manny was very proud of his military career. He served in the Army during the Korean War, received a Purple Heart, and retired after 27 years as an SFC/E7.
After moving to Albuquerque, he taught at SIPI for 8 years and was loved by his students. He belonged to The American Legion and was an active member of West Mesa Christian Church in Albuquerque.
Manny married Nancy L. Sloan on June 13, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Paul Maese.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Nancy Maese, his sons Perry Maese (Ruby), Michael Maese, Manuel Pearson, daughter, Nancy M. Morales, and stepson, John Byrd. Manny had several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will also be missed by his extended family and many friends.

Burial will be held at a later at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe
