Manuelita Margarita Chavez (“Margie”)

November 10, 1947 – June 23, 2026

Manuelita Margarita Chavez, lovingly known as “Margie,” was born on November 10, 1947, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. She was peacefully called to the Lord’s Kingdom on June 23, 2026.

Margie, along with her two sisters, was raised in Colonias, New Mexico, by her parents, Bernabe and Genevieve Gallegos.

On February 5, 1966, Margie married the love of her life, Tommy, in Santa Rosa. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage and built a loving home in Albuquerque, where they raised their three children. Margie dedicated 30 years of service to Allstate Insurance, where she formed lifelong friendships and created cherished memories with her coworkers.

Margie was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring sister, proud grandmother, and treasured great-grandmother. She had a kind and generous heart and loved her family unconditionally. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends.

Margie is survived by her beloved husband, Tommy Chavez; her children, Paula Riley and her husband Kenny Riley, Shannon Esquivel and Bobby Esquivel, and Eric Chavez and his wife Miranda Lovato-Chavez; her sisters, Angie Vigil and Sandra Ambrogio; her six grandchildren, Robert Esquivel, Tommy Riley and his wife Allie Riley, Josh Esquivel, Jo Riley, Isaiah Esquivel, and Gabriel Chavez; and her two great-grandchildren, Harlie Riley and Shae Riley.
