Marco Antonio Candelaria passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 64.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Mr. Candelaria was a graduate of Del Norte High School and attended TVI (now CNM). He was employed by Sandia Laboratories at the time of his death.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Julian and Jessie Candelaria.
He is survived by his brother Pablo Candelaria; sisters Sally Wehling and Regina MacKenzie; brother-in-law John MacKenzie; nieces Emma Wehling, Alice Wehling, and Madeline MacKenzie; nephews Malcolm MacKenzie and Julian MacKenzie; and his close friend of many years, Maria Drake.
Tony loved motorcycles, cars, trucks, his dog MJ, cat Wonder, and... baseball! He often traveled out-of-state to take in a major league game and was a huge Lobos fan and supporter. He participated in the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and enjoyed drives to his family’s ranch land in the Manzano Mountains.
Tony loved his family and his life in New Mexico. We will miss him.
