Margaret Alice Gurley

MARGARET ALICE GURLEY Margaret Alice Gurley, 84, of Farmington, passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father Saturday, October 17, 2010. She was born April 6, 1926, in Lindrith, New Mexico to Chester Hepner and Leona Hunter Hepner. Margaret married Howard Gurley in 1942. She loved the community of Lindrith where she was born, it was her safe place and place of solitude. Margaret was a dedicated wife, mother and sister and took the title of grandma most seriously. According to her granddaughter “she was the finest woman she ever had the pleasure of knowing. She was my hero, my friend, my confidante and my Grandma”. Her loving devotion will be greatly missed. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 52 years, Howard; son, Richard Gurley; brother, Bill Hepner; sister, Lena Sumner and grandson, Joseph (Trey) Peskor. She is survived by her best friend, Ezekiel Trey Peskor of Farmington; daughters, Ann Gurley (John Borses) and Kathy Peskor (Carl), both of Farmington; son, Arlin Gurley (Leslie) of Jemez Springs; brothers, Raymond Hepner (Inez), Ralph Hepner (Claudia) and sisters, Norma Thorpe, Rosie Hepner, all of Farmington; brother, Martin Hepner of Dallas, Texas. As well as 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Gurley will be Friday, October 22 from 5:00 " 7:00 pm at Cope Memorial Chapel of Farmington. Funeral services for Margaret will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Lindrith Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Gavalin Cemetery.
