Margaret V. Garcia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on January 15,1928 in Ponderosa, New Mexico to Nestor Montoya and Carlota Maestas.

Margaret led a fulfilling career in retail as a dedicated saleslady. Beyond her career accomplishments, Margaret's true passions lay within her family and faith. She was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Her devout faith provided her with the strength to face life's challenges with unwavering courage and resilience.

Above all else, Margaret cherished spending time with her family. She was a beacon of joy and love to her loved ones. Margaret took immense pleasure in making others smile, always going the extra mile to ensure their happiness. Her unwavering love will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to experience it.

In her free time, Margaret enjoyed two simple pleasures: shopping and going out to eat. These activities not only brought her joy but also provided an opportunity for cherished moments with loved ones. Whether she was trying on new clothes or sharing laughter over a delicious meal, Margaret embraced every moment with zest and enthusiasm.

Margaret's memory will forever be carried in the hearts of her surviving family members: daughter Katherine Ayala (Joseph) of Albuquerque, NM, son Johnny Garcia (Jennifer) Albuquerque, NM, daughter Sandy Price (Ryan) of Albuquerque, NM, grandson David Benavidez (Ana) of Rio Rancho, NM, grandson Marcel Garcia III of Albuquerque, NM, granddaughter Jacqueline Garcia of Albuquerque, NM, brother Amadeo Montoya of Albuquerque, NM, and sister Emily Garcia and Lauren Salas both of Albuquerque, NM.  She is also survived by her four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great- great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Nestor Montoya and Carlota Maestas, daughter Dora Garcia, husband Marcel Garcia, granddaughter Melissa Martinez, son Marcel Garcia Jr., and brother Porfirio Montoya.

To honor Margaret's life, a Funeral Service will be held on February 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Road Chapel in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Following the service, Margaret will be laid to rest in a Burial ceremony at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico starting at 2:30 p.m.

Pallbearers will be David Benavidez, Elijah Benavidez, Marcel L. Garcia III, Toby Chavez, Greg Chavez, Jay Flores and Johnny Garcia as an honorary pallbearer.
