In loving memory of Margie Rivera, 80, a dedicated homemaker whose primary focus was ensuring the well-being of her home and family, passed away on March 15, 2024, in Placitas, New Mexico. She was born on September 6, 1943, in Starkville, Colorado.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Margie will remember her as a selfless individual who always prioritized the needs of others above her own. Her generous and nurturing nature shone through as she made sure nobody left her home hungry. Margie's culinary skills were renowned among her friends and neighbors, particularly for her delicious tamales.
Aside from tending to her loved ones and creating mouth-watering dishes, Margie found joy in spending time at the casino and socializing with those around her. Her warm personality and giving spirit touched the lives of many.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Archibeque and Norberto Gutierrez; her beloved husband, Benjamin Rivera Sr.; brothers, Manuel Baldonado and Gilbert Baldonado; sister, Erlinda Lovato; nephew, Daniel Baldonado; grandsons, Fabian Rivera and Marcos Duran.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Paez (Tim) of Albuquerque, NM, Evangeline (Vangie) Duran (Steven) of Placitas, NM, Annabella Lucero (Tim) of Algodones, NM, Elizabeth Rivera of Algodones, NM; son, Benjamin Rivera Jr. of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren Timothy Paez (Jennifer), Lorenzo Duran (Bella), Shay Johnson, Esperanza Duran, Santana Sheehan (Jimmy), Selena Trujillo (Avery), and Shyann Rivera; as well as her loving brother, Norbert Baldonado (Patsy); numerous nieces and nephews; three great-grandchildren; and godsons, Ray Baldonado and Alex Unale.
Visitations will be on Tuesday April 2, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services-Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Rd. Rio Rancho, NM. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday April 3, 2024, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo Bernalillo, NM, at 10:00 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. A private inurnment will take place at a later date.
