Maria Margarita “Margie” Garcia, age 85, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, was born on May 31, 1940, in Duranes to Alejandro and Mary Garcia. She peacefully passed away on January 12, 2026, in her home in the presence of her daughters.

Margie attended Valley High School and remained deeply connected to her roots and community throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alejandro Garcia; her mother, Mary Garcia; her brother, James Garcia; and her son, Alex Garcia.

Margie is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara Garcia (Tony Montoya) and Jeanette Garcia; her beloved Aunt/Hermanita, Cecilia Vigil; and her cherished grandchildren, Valerie, Letisha, Miranda (Cody), Demyra and family, great grandchildren Alex, Santi, and Xavier. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Margie had a vibrant spirit and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening and dancing, and she especially treasured the Christmas season. She enjoyed watching Family Feud, Young Sheldon, baking competitions, and movies. Above all, she valued time spent with her family.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the many memories she created with those she loved.
