Maria Mercedes Swick

Swick, Maria Age 58, a resident of Rio Rancho for 22 years, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014. Maria was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on September 24, 1955, to Rosario and Elia (Barrientos) Funez. She became a U.S. Citizen in 1995. She was preceded in death by her father, Rosario Funez. Maria is survived by her husband of 22 years, Donald Swick; mother, Elia Barrientos; children, Roxana Stufft and husband Robert of Albuquerque, NM, Jackie Carmer of Long Beach, CA, Johnathan Swick of Rio Rancho, NM; three grandchildren, Calandra Stufft, Crystelle Stufft, Lorysa Stufft; sisters, Gladys Lopez, Zoila Barrientos, Miriam Barrientos, Rosaria Barrientos. Maria�s favorite hobby was gardening, especially flowers, and red roses were her favorite. Maria was an avid soccer fan always rooting for her Honduras national team, and her granddaughters teams. Maria had a loving and caring heart as she contributed to local homeless shelters, especially Joy Junction. A Viewing and Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, February 7, 2014 at Charity Baptist Church, 5501 Obregon Road, Rio Rancho, NM.
