Marian Rodriguez

Marian Virginia Lang Collins Rodriguez, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away on Monday august 22, 2022, at 5;30 am. She was born 06/26/1937 in ware Texas to Robert and Mary Williams lang. She was the 3rd born of nine children.  She was raised in Dalhart TX and lived there until she married Robert Collins.  They had 2 children – Steve R. Collins and Robin S. Collins miller.  After Roberts death in 1963 she settled in Albuquerque, nm raising her 2 kids as a single parent with help from her mother Mary and her family. She worked for several years in the grocery business.  Working for piggly wiggly, smith’s and Damacio’ grocery store. During those early years she loved dancing and hanging out at the caravan and hitching post.  She married George Rodriguez on May 11, 1978.  They were married for 44 years. She retired in 2002 and spent her remaining years running a booth at the state fair every year with the love of her life, she was his right hand in all his endeavors. And sharing love and laughter with her family and friends. She is proceeded in death by her parents Robert and Mary, brothers-bob, jack (wife Jarrlynn) frank (wife Dorothy) and Richard (ex-wife carol) lang. And her sisters mona (husband James) and betty lang. Also, brother-in-law lower. She is survived by her husband and best friend George Rodriguez, son Steve (wife Teri) Collins, and his sons jarred (wife Jessica and their kids, Jaxen, and Jamesley) and Jason (wife Rebecca and their kids maxwell, Jase and Charlie) daughter robin (husband James (jb) miller their son Jarrett (wife Adrianna and their kids, Isabella, Juliana, and harper) and son Nathan (his daughter Lydia and his girlfriend Bianca). And daughter Virginia (ginia) (husband Alex and their kids, Zoey, Wyatt, and joe). Daughters Monica (husband Steve) haff (their kids Lile, Cory and Max.) Irene (husband Steve Hape and kids victor (wife Jennifer and kids alexander, Zac, Johnny, and Avery. Danielle (husband Carlos and kids Ariya and Athena). Denise Rodriguez kids Jacqueline (husband Javier) and Ryan. Michelle (husband Tim) Torrez, (their kids Brittani and daughter Kaylee, Ciera (husband Carlos and daughters Emmalina and Xyla). And Sivana) son George Rodriguez jr.  Very special daughter /niece Mindy sherred Martinez. That makes 8 kids-15 grandkids and 21 great grandkids. She is also survived by her sisters sue Adams and Zelda lang and brother Orville lang (wife betty).  And several nieces and nephew’s along with her longtime friend Daneen. She was the life of party and always the hostess.  She loved spending time with her family and a having a beer with friends.  She always made sure that she was dressed up to go anywhere even if she was just laying around the house.  She looked forward to having family come into town and stay and visit with her.  Or traveling to Dalhart for it.  Hanging out in her back yard with the kids running all over while having a BBQ was her favorite kind of day. She loved hummingbirds and I will always think of her when I see one. We treasured every day that we had with her.  She was loved and will be missed by all.  Until we see you again….

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Daniels Family Funeral Services from 11:00am.
