Marie Gould, 56, of Nenahnezad, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. She was born Nov. 6, 1953, in Farmington. She attended Nenahnezad Boarding School and Intermountain School.
She was employed for 23 years by Clean Sweep Janitorial Service. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, going on road trips and, most of all, spending time with her grandson, Jaylen.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Dobey; adopted parents, George and Mary Yazzie; grandparents, Jay and Molly Wash Begay; brother, Peter Dobey; and adopted brother, Arkie Yazzie. She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Gould; son-in-law, Alroy Ignacio; father, Tom Dobey Sr.; brothers Tom Dobey Jr., Joe Dobey, Thomas Dobey, Cecil Dobey, Johnny Dobey, George Dobey and Lorenzo Yazzie; sisters, Katie Dobey, Delphine Newman, Roseann Johnson and Pertina Yazzie-Jim; and one grandchild. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Cope Memorial Kirtland Chapel, 458 County Road 6100, in Kirtland, with Donald Pope officiating. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St., in Farmington.
