Mark Davis

Funeral services for Mark Davis, 83, will be 10 a.m., in Rehoboth. Tully Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth. Visitation will be 10 a.m., Oct. 6. Davis died Sept. 29, 2010, in Gallup. He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Pinedale, into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Meadow People Clan. Davis worked for the Railroad Union Pacific, was a World War II Veteran and a participant of song and dance. He enjoyed watching rodeos, playing cards, spending time with grandchildren and attending church functions. Survivors include his sons, Edison Davis, Harrison Davis, both of Mariano Lake; daughters, Laura Wauneka, Emma Lincoln, Merlinda Nez, all of Mariano Lake; Angie Smith, Arlene Augustin, Marlene Davis, all of Gallup; parents, Ben and Nellie Davis, of Pinedale; sisters, Hope Grey of Gallup, Ada Morgan of Pinedale; 11 grandchildren. Davis was preceded in death by his son, Richardson Davis. Pallbearers will be Aaron Davis, Daniel Begay, Kevin Bitsilly, Tyrone Wauneka, Brent Wauneka, Jimmie Auguestine Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends at Linda Davis’ residence, Mariano Lake, following services.
