Martin John James Torres, 34, was born on October 28th, 1987 to Doris (Newman) Montoya and John Torres. To his family he was known as ‘Marty Marty’ and was loved beyond measure.
He is preceded in death by his Beloved Mom Doris, a niece, Angelica Dixon and his maternal grandparents James and Emily Newman.
He is survived by his beloved big sister/second momma Shionee Montoya, who he loved and adored, special niece Jasmine Dixon, nephews Dante, Isaiah, and Anthony Dixon, his brother Lawrence Shawn Montoya, his spouse Caren, his niece Keziah and nephews Kyrion and Atreyu, and his father John Torres. He is also survived by his long-time and beloved girlfriend Crystal Light and her family who treated him as if he was their own, his aunts and uncles, Marilyn Flores (Billy Serna), Loretta Newman (Ron), Patrick Newman (Carolyn), and his aunt/uncle/Godparents Yvonne and Sammy Vigil, and by numerous cousins who loved him very much.
He and his mom Doris were inseparable. He was his mom’s surprise and miracle baby. Carrying and delivering Marty was dangerous to them both but Doris was determined to make sure her miracle baby survived. He never left her side his entire life. He cared for her 24/7 after her stroke and up until her death in 2019. They shared many special moments together and they shared a bond like no other.
Martin loved his family, his girlfriend, his friends, and his Kitty. Martin was a die-hard Cowboys fan and loved the outdoors and getting out into nature. He loved camping, skate boarding, hanging out with his girlfriend, and his very close group of friends that he’s known for many years. He was funny, quiet, respectful, kind, understanding, and a real stand-up guy. Wherever he worked, he was loved and respected by all. He worked hard and never complained. He was always ready and willing to help people when needed. He never had problems with anyone because everyone loved him. He will forever be loved and missed by all that he knew as he has left a memorable mark on us all.
