70, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. She was born in Albuquerque, NM on March 17, 1944 to Carl Oloff and Dorothy Della (Denney) Nelson. She lived from the east coast to the west coast for most of her life, until 2001, when Socorro became home. Charlie's husband, Billy did a lot of traveling with his occupation and she enjoyed going with him. She was a "professional vacationer" and made home away from home, she did all the cooking for the work hands. She loved it. Charlie could knit and did so all of the time. She could knit anything, but her favorite, was knitting for her family and baby clothes that she donated to different hospitals. Charlie loved her Cat, Mattie and her dog, Molly. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents. Charlie is survived by her devoted husband, Billy W. Caton; her loving children, Pam Jones and husband, Dennis; Gary Upton and wife, Andrea; Steven Upton and wife, Jennifer; and Jared Upton and wife, Leighann; her sister, Nettie Jones and husband, Clifford; her brother, L. Jack Nelson; nieces, Rima Benson; and Mariah Aragon; nephew, Jeff Jones; and many other loving family members and close friends. Charlie will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren. A Celebration of Charlie's life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the DAV, 200 N. 5th St. Socorro.
