Mary Smith

Smith died June 8, 2010, in Albuquerque. She was born July 15, 1934, in Sheep Springs, into the Towering House People Clan for the Salt People Clan. Smith was an active member of Sheep Springs Full Gospel Church. She was well known for her Two Grey Hills rug weaving. Survivors include her husband, Lewis Smith of Sheep Springs; daughters, Marie Pino of Alamo, Ella Smith of Sheep Springs, Joanne Wesbey of Minneapolis, Minn.; brothers, Harrison Watchman of Sheep Springs, Emerson Watchman of Gallup; sisters, Myra Austin of Sheep Springs, Angelina Cross of Sheep Springs; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Smith was preceded in death by her father, Anderson Watchman; mother, Rose C. Watchman; siblings, Julia Smith, Thompson Watchman; daughter, Clara Smith. Pallbearers will be Dana Martin, Franklin Morris Jr., Anderson Pino Sr., Ira Pino Jr., Marcus Pino Sr., Carlos Smith.
