MARY JOSEPHINE SHIRLEY VALENCIA

It is with tremendous sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, sister, aunt and friend Mary Jo on December 20^th 2022.  She is survived by her daughter Gretchen Valencia; deceased brother John Valencia, daughter Melanie Medina; sister Anna Dorame, husband Anthony Dorame and family; sister Socorro Oropallo, daughter Nicole Zilvetti, her brother Patrick Oropallo and family; her brother and his son Anthony Moya; deceased sister Charlotte Lindahl, her former husband Carl Lindahl and many relatives and friends.

Mary Jo was a devoted Catholic and was well known for her kindness and selflessness. Mary was the definition of a true lady who lived her life with grace and honesty. She attended Pojoaque High School, St. Catherine’s Indian School and grew up in El Rancho, New Mexico. She worked for the sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and later for the City of Santa Fe public library.          

Mary was an angel to all who knew her and she will be missed tremendously.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.  Daughter Gretchen requests that donations be made to Angel Wings ALF Home Care LLC, she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Special thanks to Legacy Home Health Care and Hospice for the wonderful service and care they provided.

Gretchen would like to personally  acknowledge her nursing friends who came and assisted in the daily care  of her mother, especially Cabrini and Ramona for going above and beyond in assisting her mom into transition. Special Angels.
