Marydell Vermillion Vaughn

Marydell Vermillion Vaughn, 96, of Farmington, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at the Gingerich Home for the Elderly. She was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Alvord, Texas. Marydell married Lee Vaughn on May 6, 1930, in Roswell. They made their first home in O'Donnell, Texas. In 1946, they moved to New Mexico and sdettled in the Pie Town area. Together Lee and Marydell raised their four children, as well as opening their home to many others through the years. After leaving Pie Town, they lived in Albuquerque where they were very active in church work ad well as operating saw mills in northern New Mexico. They moved to Bloomfield in 1980. Marydell was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; her eldest son, Wayne Vaughn and one grandson, Kenny Hopper. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Roger and Helen Vaughn and John and Gayle Humphrey, all of Silver City, and Carroll and Illa Vaughn of Bloomfield. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 43 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandson, who are blessed to have the privilege of calling Marydell "Grandma." Marydell's family expresses their deepest appreciation to The Gingerich Home for the Elderly for the excellent and loving care she received furing the last months of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the following: Animas Pregnancy Center, First Baptist Church of Bloomfield Building Fund, or the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.
