  1. In Loving Memory of Max Samuel Kush
  2. July 7, 1952 – March 15, 2026

“Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day.”

Max Samuel Kush, 73, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, passed away suddenly on March 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

  1. Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on July 7, 1952, Max lived his life with deep love, curiosity, and integrity. He proudly served 30 years in the
  2. United States Air Force, retiring as a Colonel—but to those who knew him best, his greatest titles were husband, father, grandfather,
  3. friend and dog-dad to his beloved Ava.

Max had a brilliant mind and a lifelong passion for learning. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kutztown State College and Chapman College, Master’s degrees of Science in Chemistry from Lehigh University and Georgia College and completed Postmaster studies in Engineering and Technology at Northcentral University. Yet for all his academic and professional achievements, Max was most fulfilled by the people in his life. He loved sharing stories, tinkering with new ideas, spending time outdoors, and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

  1. He will be forever cherished by his beloved wife, Debbie; daughters Jaime and BethAnn; son Douglas and his wife Melissa; and stepsons Adam and his wife Simone, and Adrian and his wife Dalis. Max was a proud grandfather who adored Sebastian, Ethan, Darrien, Augustine, and Meadow Kush, and Dastan and Zara Campbell—each a bright light in his world. He will also be deeply missed by his many friends, whose lives were richer for having known him.

A memorial service celebrating Max’s life will be held at Daniels Funeral Home in Rio Rancho.

  1. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t. org), reflecting Max’s enduring spirit of service
  2. and love for helping others.

“Integrity first, service before self, excellence in all we do.” – United States Air Force Core Values.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love he gave endures forever.
