Michael Todd Akerson

December 29, 1966 — July 11, 2025

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Michael Todd Akerson on Friday, July 11, 2025. He was born in Hannibal, Missouri, on December 29, 1966, and raised in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. After moving to Albuquerque in his early twenties, he became a computer consultant.

The family’s rock, Mike was the eldest son of Lorretta and the late Warren Akerson. A loving husband and devoted father, he leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Lisa Jessup Akerson and his daughter, Sabrina Noel Akerson. Also mourning his loss are his mother, Lorretta Akerson, brother David, sister Charlotte, and several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Depending on the season, he’d be cheering on the Cardinals or the Raiders. Mike enjoyed tinkering with his cars, any water sport, and watching the wildlife around his home. Although he relished the beauty of God’s creations, Mike cherished every moment spent with his family most of all. Mike will be remembered for his infectious laughter and larger-than-life personality, his commitment to friends and family, and his willingness to help anyone in need.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at New Covenant Church, 7201 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque. While there are sure to be tears, this is to be a joyful celebration of a life lived to its fullest! In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in Mike’s honor to the Compassion Ministry at New Covenant Church, 7201 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87113.
