Michael Andrew Mainolfa, lovingly known as Mikey or Homies, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Born on April 3, 1949, in Washington D.C., Michael was a cherished son, brother, father, and friend.
He dedicated many years of his life to the telecommunications industry, working as a Telecommunications Technician from 1975 until his retirement in 2010. His contributions to the field were marked by a commitment to excellence and an unwavering passion for technology.
He graduated from Marshall High School in Falls Church, Virginia, in 1967, where he laid the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. Outside of his professional life, Michael was a vibrant individual who had a zest for life; he enjoyed motorcycles, cars, and sports, and he was a proud member of the Desert Springs Church.
Michael is survived by his son, Damian and Hannah Mainolfa and his beloved grandchildren, Owen Mainolfa, Knox Mainolfa, and Thea Mainolfa. He leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories that will continue to inspire his family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Mainolfa; his mother, Thelma Mainolfa; his son, Ian Mainolfa; and Carol MacMillan, his ex-wife and friend. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A funeral service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on September 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Desert Springs Community Church located at 705 Osuna Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Michael are invited to join in honoring the legacy he leaves behind.
