Martinez, Michael Age 74, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Thursday, November 17, 2011. He was born May 8, 1937 to Pablo and Carmen Martinez, in Albuquerque, NM. Michael retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department after 22 years of service. He proudly served as an Army Sergeant/Paratrooper in the 1st Airborne Battle Group 502d Infantry. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and at his ranch. He was preceded in death by his parents. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lillie Martinez; daughters, Cathy Serna, Carmen Sanchez and husband John, Bernadette Mares and husband John, Pauline Ramos and husband Manuel, and Juanita Martinez; sons, Michael A. Martinez and wife Juanita and Chris Martinez and wife Trinnie; brother, Chepe Martinez; sisters, Barbara Lujan and husband Steve, Dolores Marquez and Jennie North and husband Jim; grandchildren, Amanda, Monique, Joshua, Francessca, Matthew, Tori, Manny, Alisha, Candice, Jonathan, Jessica, Paul, Heather, Melissa, and Victoria; and four great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Visitation will take place on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Garcia Mortuary, Chapel of Angels. Rosary to be recited on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 9:00 AM also at Holy Family Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Father Jerry Strinmtez. Internment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery following Mass. Casket bearers are Michael Martinez, Chris Martinez, Manuel Ramos, Steve Lujan, John Mares and Joshua Martinez. Honorary bearers are Manny Ramos, Paul Mares and Jonathan Sanchez. Michael's care has been entrusted to:
