Michael Travis Shelby

SHELBY- Michael Travis Shelby, 54, died November 24, 2010 after a sudden illness. Michael, a resident of Rio Rancho, was born February 15, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM, the son of Robert Louis and Edna Louise White. Michael enjoyed being outdoors, with trout fishing and camping as his favorite activities. He was also a veteran of the U.S Navy. Next to his love of being outdoors, Michael was thoroughly dedicated to law enforcement. During his career, he was involved with departments in Santa Fe, Sandoval County and Corrales. Michael was currently serving with the police department in the Village of Corrales. He is survived by his wife, of nearly 20 years, Kimberly; his children, Chelsey C. Hanrahan of Rio Rancho, Amy White of Texas, Travis White of Albuquerque and Erica Jean Metzger-Hanrahan of Rio Rancho. Michael is also survived by two grandchildren; Ciera and Chase; sister, Diane McCants of Washington and brother, Patrick Aaron White of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Edson White. Visitation will be 5 �?¯�?¿�?½�?¯�?¿�?½“ 7 pm Friday, November 26, 2010 at Daniels Family Funeral Services �?¯�?¿�?½�?¯�?¿�?½“ Sara Road Chapel in Rio Rancho. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 am Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW, 87114 in Albuquerque. Interment, with police honors, will take place at 10:00 am, Monday, November 29, 2010 at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The procession to Santa Fe National Cemetery will begin at 8:00 am from Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM. Pallbearers will be Paul McTeigue-Garcia, Paul Schneberger, Gary Michael Lyons, Patrick Aaron White, Reed Stabe and Tim McCants.
