ARAGON - Miguel Roldan Aragón, 71, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from congestive heart failure. He leaves his wife of 33 years, MarÃa Eugenia López de Aragón; his daughter, Ana Aragón de Miller and husband Brian Miller, his daughter MarÃa Aragón de Gonzales and husband, Jonathan Gonzales; his son, Miguel Aragón-López; his daughter, Margarita Aragón- López; his grandson Sebastián Miller-Aragón; his soon to be born second grandchild; his siblings and friends. Born in Belen, raised in Aragón, NM, the son of Mequiades and Gertrudis (Armijo) Aragón, was a resident of Mérida, Yucatán, México; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Aragón spent his early years in Aragón, NM on his family’s ranch. At an early age he ventured to the East Coast where he graduated from Maryknoll Preparatory School in 1959. After attending Maryknoll Seminary he was welcomed into the priesthood in 1963. He continued his education and graduated in 1967 with a bachelor’s in Theology and later attained his masters. Once graduated, he started his missionary work in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, where he met his wife, MarÃa López Esquivel and started a new journey. In 1976 they were married and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin were Miguel started working for the US Forest Service. In 1980 he also graduated with an additional bachelor’s in Business Management from LaSalle Extension University and immediately after the birth of his second daughter, Mr. Aragón moved his family to Albuquerque, NM and continued his work with the US Forest Service. In 1983 Mr. Aragón purchased his father’s ranch and started to fulfill a lifelong dream with the help of his four children and wife. Thus started many years of balancing suits and ties with dusty boots and a sombrero. His dedication and passionate out look on life on the ranch never ceased to surprise his children who stood by his side and shared the same balancing act between busy weekends on the ranch and attending to their school lessons in Albuquerque during the week. Mr. Aragón was a complicated man, as referred to once by his eldest daughter. A man of many passions and an unstoppable will to match. The world was very much his oyster and he lived like there was no tomorrow. He was a vehement reader of an impressive selection of books, which of late consisted primarily of many novels written in the Spanish and Portuguese language. He was a lover of words, always trying to communicate his invincible spirit to those with the necessary patience to truly lend an ear. He was a man of challenges, facing the world alone at a young age, going against the odds when a decision needed to be made. He stood with this immense integrity that shined through it all. He will be known and remembered forever as the cousin, the uncle, the brother, the son, the husband, the father and above all, the man; the man whom beyond any doubt had truly existed.
