Miguel (Mike) Martinez

On the evening of January 27^th Miguel (Mike) Martinez of Socorro, NM passed away at the age of 95.  He was born in Val Verde, New Mexico to Florentino Martinez and Rumaldita (Jojola) Martinez. 

He served his country in the US Army for five years including a tour of duty in Korea during the Korean War; he retired from the City of Socorro in 1991.  He was a quiet man with a great sense of humor, dad liked working on cars and as a younger man enjoyed working in the garden. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, son Mike Martinez, Jr. and grandsons Chris, Jr.  

He is survived by his Sons, Leo, Chris (Melynda), John (Sandra), Daughters, Darlene, Susan (Billy), Grandchildren: Lucy, Kayla, Gabe, Joshua, Jezebel, Jasmine, Justine, Patrick, Amanda, Crystal, Theresa, Vicente, Brittany, Roxanne, Aaron, Steven, Eric, Dominic and 19 great grandchildren.

Dad, the void you left in our hearts can’t be filled, but we will hold on to the lovely memories we had together. Till we meet again. We love you dearly.

Pallbearers are Grand Children: Josh Martinez, Gabe Martinez, Vicente Soto, Jr, Patrick Manjarrez, Aaron McDaniel, Brittany McDaniel, Eric Silva, and Dominic Silva.

Funeral Services with Rosary will be held at the San Miguel Catholic Church Monday, February 13, at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at 2:30 P.M.
