Miguel B Mora

MORA - Miguel B. Mora, 86, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at his home in Veguita, NM surrounded by his loving family. Miguel was born on February 5, 1924 in San Marcial, NM to Salamon and Eugenia (Barela) Mora. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Isidora Mora; grandchildren, Petra Sanchez and husband, Anthony; Isidora Hernandez; Roman Moran; Bernadette Castillo; Christopher Mora; and Anita Castillo; 13 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Chavez; Mary Lee Jojola; and Romona Soto; his aunt, Nellie Barnes and husband Otis; his uncle Matthias Martinez and wife, Frances; many nieces and nephews; and his estranged daughter, Grace Castillo and husband, Rudy. Miguel was a New Mexico resident for over 32 years after moving back from Riverside California. He served as a Deputy Sheriff for 11 years and a County Commissioner for 4 years. Miguel was a proud Veteran of the US Army and was a very skilled heavy equipment operator, welder, and occasional business owner. Miguel was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Encarnacion, one son, Cipriano Miguel “Mike” Mora, one daughter, Carol Castillo, his sisters, Margaret Luna and Julie Mora, and his brother, Estanislado Mora. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Mora Home at 5:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 am at the San Isidro Church in Las Nutrias, NM with Father Vincent Nicosia as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the Las Nutrias Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lawrence Romero, Dan Bush, Tristen Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, Jimmy Ortega, and Salomon Ortega.
