It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Monique Lillian Romero, who passed away on July 14, 2026, at the age of 51.

Born on August 31, 1974, Monique lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Affectionately known as "Booboo," a childhood nickname that stayed with her throughout her life, Monique had a gift for making people smile. Whether she was telling one of her wonderfully corny jokes, singing along to her favorite songs, or dancing whenever the moment called for it, she brought light and joy wherever she went.

Monique loved traveling, planning trips, special events, and creating memories with the people she loved most. She had a sweet tooth that everyone knew about and never passed up an opportunity for bread and butter. Even though she was known for being a "big chicken," she absolutely loved Halloween and looked forward to celebrating it every year.

Of all the roles she held in life, the one she treasured most was being a mother. She often said that one of her greatest accomplishments was being "Jalen's Mom." Her love for her daughter was immeasurable and was the center of her world. She also cherished being an aunt, sister, cousin and godmother, embracing those roles with the same warmth, generosity, and unconditional love that defined her life.

Monique was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Emily and Juan Urioste.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Jalen Romero; her parents, Rick and Sandra Campos; her sister, Chani Campos; her niece and nephew, Cree and Cruces; as well as countless family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Those who knew Monique will remember her for her infectious laughter, kind heart, playful spirit, and the love she so freely gave to everyone around her. She had a remarkable way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Though her time with us was far too short, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Though deeply missed, Monique's memory will forever be a source of comfort, laughter, and love.
