Nancy Rae Miller

Nancy Rae Miller passed away on September 3, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was born on December 2, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that brought warmth to those around her.

Nancy graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois, and went on to earn her nursing degree from Joliet Junior College, where she later specialized in wound care. She was a devoted member of Calvary Lutheran in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, where her faith was an important part of her life. She also found great happiness in quilting, a pastime that reflected both her patience and her caring spirit. Among her greatest joys was spoiling her grandson, a role she embraced with deep love and delight. Nancy also held a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Chip and Tucker, who brought her companionship, comfort, and countless moments of happiness.

Above all, Nancy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared 50 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Bradley Miller, and together they built a family that remained at the center of her heart. She is also survived by her daughters, Angel Gordon and her husband, Justin, and Connie Gulley and her husband Gordon; by her son, Brad Miller, Jr.; by her grandson, Nathan Gulley; by her sister, Cathy Shover; and by her brother, Jack Hornbeck and his wife, Barb. The love Nancy gave so freely will continue to live on in each of them.

She was preceded in death by her father, Asa Risner; her mother, Pearl Hornbeck Risner; her brothers, Ron Risner, Jim Risner, and Rob Risner; her sister, Judith Risner; and her granddaughter, Shirley Rose Schwartz. Their memories remained part of her life, and now she is reunited with those who went before her.

Nancy Rae Miller leaves behind a legacy of steadfast love, family devotion, and quiet kindness. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
