Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas “Nick” Arthur Baca, who left us on October 3, 2026. Nick was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend.

Nick was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on February 9, 1990 to Annabell Gilliam (Rodney) and Arthur Baca (Farah French).

He was preceded in death by his loving grandmothers, Pauline Baca and Selina Benavidez, his God parents Domitilia “Tillie” Rivera and Paul Chavez.

Nick is survived by his wife Saraphina “Sara” Baca who shared his life journey with him. His children Aubryanna Baca, Elias Baca, and Arianna Baca who were the center of his world. His sister Noel Lucero (Anthony) and Brother Kevin Baca (Desiree Gonzales); grandfathers Gabino Baca and Simon Benavidez; father in-law and mother in-law Leonard and Susie Scott, sisters in-laws Stephanie Thompson (Hal) and Serena Cantrell (Jonathan); nieces, Abigail, Sophia, Zoey, Kiana, and nephew Luke; uncles Gabino “Gabby” Baca, David Baca (Janel), James Benavidez (Elizabeth), and his aunt Paula Quintana (Sebastian).

Anyone who knew Nick knew not to let that serious expression fool you. Behind that serious face was someone who loved to joke, tease, and bring laughter into the lives of others. One of Nick’s greatest passions was music. His knowledge of bands, artists, songs, and stories behind the music seemed endless.

He will be remembered for the unique person he was, the passion he carried, and the memories he created with the people fortunate enough to know him. Rest peacefully, Nick. The music may have ended, but your song will live on in all of us.
