Nile C. Jacobs, 89, of Aztec, died on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, in Farmington. He was born Nov. 28, 1921, to Iva Bunch Jacobs and James Curt Jacobs. He graduated from high school and lettered in Track. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a baker who could make a good doughnut, and a patrol officer with the Jackson County Missouri Sheriff's Office. He was a trucker in 48 states before he retired.
He liked to travel and collect saddles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice L. Mark; his parents; his son, Nile James Jacobs; and sisters, Fern Davidson and Ollie Cummings.
He is survived by his son, Mark Jacobs; and his daughters, Linda and Karlee. Mr. Jacobs had 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A reception will be held at Aztec Community Center following the services. Pallbearers are Bill Taylor, Kenny Garcia, Cody Foutz and Steve House.
