Franklyn Williams, Olushola A. Olushola A. Franklyn Williams Age 17, a warrior for the Lord, was called home to His Heavenly Kingdom on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Olushola was born on December 4, 1994 at Stonybrook Hospital in Long Island, New York. Olushola was a loving son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He was exceptionally intelligent and spoke seven languages. He had just been accepted into the National Society of High School Scholars and was offered a $300,000 grant for his education after high school. He loved music and sports, especially wrestling, basketball and martial arts; he also enjoyed dancing - his favorite was Latin dancing and Hip Hop. Most importantly, he wanted to do good for himself and the world by serving his Lord and Savior by one day becoming a Priest. Olushola was a resident of Rio Rancho, NM for the past 15 years; like most teenagers, he had other names - he was called ACE, Frankie, Edd or Eddie Franks. He was entering his senior year at The Ask Academy in August. As a youth leader at the Boys and Girls Club, Olushola gained the love and respect of all the children, including many of the autistic children in his group. He went above and beyond his volunteer role and counseled any youth that needed his help. He knew the right words to help in challenging situations and touched the lives of those around him. As recently as a year ago, Olushola came to the aid of a troubled young man and gave him hope to continue his life. Olushola was a shining example for all young people. He was preceded in death by his father, Bishop Alphonse K. Williams, who entered into Eternal Rest in November 1994. He is survived by the blessing of two mothers, Marquerita Franklyn Williams and his Godmother Rose McCather Lewis; grandmother, Veronica Whites; sister, Precious Franklyn Williams; uncle, Benedict Chin and his wife, Akua, and their family; aunt, Monica Thomas and her husband, Cecil; nephews, Jalen and Jeremiah Franklyn Wallace; niece, Isabella Franklyn Wallace; godfather, Bishop Brinsley Dixon; cousins, Afia and Kwaku Chin; the Wallace family; and many, many friends who are asked to keep Olushola's memory alive. God bless his soul. A Visitation will be held at 4:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 5:00 pm, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Living Word Church, 1901 - 17th Avenue NE, Rio Rancho, NM.
