Omar Alonzo Vega, a beloved member of the Santa Fe community, passed away on June 22, 2023, at the age of 29. He was born on October 5, 1993, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Omar will be greatly missed by his family and friends but leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and vibrant energy.

Omar was known for living life to the fullest. He had a passion for helping those in need and dedicated himself to providing food for the homeless. His selflessness and compassion touched the hearts of many in the community. Omar found joy in music, particularly singing Christian songs which resonated deeply with his spiritual nature.

Described as a fun-loving and charismatic man, Omar's magnetic personality drew people towards him. He had a zest for life that was contagious, and he never allowed any challenges to hinder his spirit. With his unwavering determination and positive attitude, Omar inspired those around him to embrace life's adventures.

Omar was preceded in death by his uncle Eddy Vega, uncle Jaime Vega, and grandmother Julieta Flores Guerrero. He is survived by his loving parents Jacqueline and Paulino Vargas, as well as his grandparents Paulino and Ana Maria Vargas.

In addition to his immediate family members, Omar leaves behind cherished memories with his brothers Carlos Vega and Bryan Vargas (Arianna). His beloved fiancée Mireya Escalante (Jennifer, Chris, Dylan) who shared a deep bond with him that brought immense happiness into their lives.

Omar had a special connection with his godmother Imelda Vega who played an influential role in shaping his character. He also shared strong bonds with his aunts: Angelica Vega (Jesus), Mireya Vega, Maria Vega (Jaime+), Zulma Vargas, Banny Vargas, and Usiel Vargas.

The loss of Omar is deeply felt across generations as he leaves behind numerous cousins who looked up to him: Brenda Chavez (Joaquin), Kenia Chavez (Fernando), Aaron Chavez, Eddy Chavez (Jessy), Julie Vega (Ricco), Marcella Vega, Jaime Vega Jr., Jackie Vega (Travis), Melinda Vega (Kurt), Leslie Vargas (Ashley), Cesar Becerra, Evelyn Becerra (Jesus), Paola Vega (Megan), Jesus Rios (Alexandra), Denisse Rios (Ivan), Joaquin Rios Jr. (Valeria), Crystal Chavez (Elmer) and many more.

Omar's genuine love for life and his infectious laughter will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His generous spirit, unwavering determination, and vibrant personality will continue to inspire others to live with zest and compassion.

Held dearly in the hearts of his family, friends, and community, Omar Alonzo Vega's legacy will forever be remembered. As we bid him farewell, let us celebrate the incredible life he lived and honor his memory by continuing his acts of kindness and spreading love in the world.
