Born on July 29, 1935 in Newark, NJ, Pat moved to Northville, NY in 1943, where she graduated from Northville high school in 1954. She attended Oneonta State College of Education, and after graduation got her start as an elementary school teacher. While teaching at Scotia-Glendale elementary school, she met Millard Chamberlain. The pair married in 1962 and moved into a small house in Wells, NY. Pat taught kindergarten and first grade classes at Wells Central School until 1974, when Millard became the music director at Lowville Academy and Central School. Pat taught 3rd grade at Lowville Academy until her retirement. She earned a Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Potsdam in 1991 and was inducted into the Kappa Delta Pi honor society in education. Throughout her teaching career, Pat had a positive influence on many children and was loved by her students and the educational community.
Pat and Millard moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2017.
An avid reader, walker, traveler and thinker, Pat served for many years as a lector at Saint Stephens Catholic Church in Croghan. She liked nothing more than to read, take walks with Mary Schulz, and command a yearly Christmas Eve party.
Pat is survived by her husband Millard, three children (Matt, Jeff, Jenny), French son Fabrice, and four grandchildren (Hanna, Caelen, William and Andrew).
A private memorial service was held by the family in New Mexico. You can place a remembrance at Pat’s Memorial Website at www.danielsfuneral.com/notices/Patricia-Chamberlain or sending a card directly to Millard Chamberlain at:
