Patricia "Pat" Cosper

July 17, 1938 - May 21, 2026 Patricia Ann Cosper, a longtime resident of Corrales, NM, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026 at the age of 87. Pat’s life was defined by her steadfast faith in God and her dedication to nurturing a large loving family, a dream she cherished as an only child. She is reunited with her beloved husband of 48 years, Tooter Cosper, who recently passed away. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lona Cassidy of Long Beach, CA, and her father, Lawrence Bell of Lynwood, CA. Together, Pat and Tooter established a successful insurance business, sharing the daily responsibilities of ownership. They also built a home in Corrales that became a treasured center for family, friends, and community, regularly hosting weddings, showers, church events, cookie exchanges, and family gatherings. Pat took great pride in her beautiful yard, where roses lined the drive and courtyard, and colorful potted plants and green grass welcomed all visitors. Despite facing health challenges over the past decade, Pat remained spirited and deeply devoted to her family. Pat’s legacy of love and support lives on through her family. 

She is survived by her children: Monty Mathis, Cheryl Mitchell and her husband Mark, Sherri Garcia and her husband David, Mark Mathis and his wife Dianne, and Christine Carrasco and her husband Milton.  She is also survived by her step-children: Jerry Cosper and his wife Eileen, Terry Cosper and his wife Nicole, Shelly Cosper, and Gary Cosper. Pat was the proud grandmother of seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Her unique and loving way of expressing herself will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.  

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Funeral Home Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87109. A reception and refreshments will follow at the same location.
